stewardship in practice
Essays and talks drawn from two decades stewarding the Madeleine L’Engle estate — the questions creative legacies raise, seen up close.

Some of this work grows out of my experience with Madeleine L’Engle’s estate; some looks outward, at questions involving archives, publishing, adaptations, rights, libraries, cultural memory, and what happens to creative work as it moves into other hands.
This is less a set of prescriptions than a place to look closely at those choices in practice: what they preserve, what they change, what they make possible, and what they sometimes get wrong.
